RICHARD HOBDAY

Richard Hobday received his MSc and PhD from the School of Engineering, Cranfield University, and he studied Industrial Design as a postgraduate student at the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design. An Energy Institute member and Chartered Engineer, he has been involved in a wide range of consultancy projects concerned with sustainability and health in the built environment.

He is also a Member of the Chinese Medicine Division of the British Register of Complementary Practitioners, having studied Chinese Medicine and Chinese exercise systems in the UK and China.

Dr Hobday has has been invited to speak on sunlight and health at the London Science Museum, the Wellcome Library for the History and Understanding of Medicine, and at numerous conferences and meetings. He has appeared on radio and television to discuss his work. He currently lectures on the risks and benefits of UV radiation and is the director of Solar Design for Health^TM, a consultancy which gives guidance on sunlight and well-being in the built environment.
